Overview

The LCL Awards Domestic Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP) is designed for individuals who are looking to begin a career within the domestic gas industry and do not currently hold the qualifications or experience required to undertake ACS assessment directly.

The programme provides a structured route into the gas industry, combining classroom-based learning, practical workshop training and supervised workplace experience. Delegates will develop the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to work safely and competently on domestic gas installations and appliances.

Throughout the programme, learners will cover essential areas including gas safety legislation, combustion, ventilation, flueing, pipework, tightness testing, gas controls, appliance installation, servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis. Practical training allows delegates to develop confidence using industry-standard equipment and procedures before completing a supervised portfolio of workplace evidence.

Successful completion of the Managed Learning Programme provides learners with the recognised training pathway required to progress towards the relevant ACS assessments. Following successful ACS certification, engineers can progress towards Gas Safe registration and begin working professionally within the domestic gas industry.
