The F-Gas & ODS Category 1 qualification is designed for engineers who install, commission, service, maintain or decommission refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-Gases). Category 1 provides comprehensive competency for engineers who need to work with refrigerants across a wide range of RACHP equipment.
The course provides delegates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to handle refrigerants safely, minimise emissions and carry out work in accordance with current environmental legislation and industry standards. Training covers refrigeration principles, refrigerant properties, environmental impact, system components, leak checking, pressure testing, evacuation, refrigerant recovery and charging.
Throughout the programme, delegates will develop practical experience using specialist refrigeration tools and equipment, including recovery machines, vacuum pumps, refrigerant gauges and leak detection equipment.
